I needed a piece of drain piping, called up my friends at Gronis and they had it for me and loaned me a hack saw to in case it was too long and I needed to saw it. You have got to love stores like that. Was glad I didn't have to go to Home Depot- they get enough of my patronage lately and I'm trying to spread it around.
The swimming lessons my daughter took were ok. Could have used a little more instruction rather than what seemed more like swim time, although she is just 3 now. She was very disappointed afterwards that she wasn't allowed to go down the big slide at Wolman Aquatic Center since it went in the deep end. I can't think of any smaller water slides for kids in town. Went to the Great Wolf Lodge- not in Leavenworth County...in neighboring Wyandotte County. The resort is really close to home and a big hit with my daughter. We swam to our hearts content and there were 4 water slides she could go down as a new swimmer, so that made her pretty happy. She left there a better swimmer than I felt she got out of her swim lessons.
I really wish, especially this time of year that there was an outdoor cafe downtown. I know Metropolitan and Mama Mia's have outdoor spaces- those are the only two I can think of in town. There is something about outdoor eating in a downtown setting that is charming and missing from our downtown landscape.
Thanks Jennifer- nice running into you shopping downtown! Was so handy to walk to my bank then go buy the bamboo flooring at Harts for the back of my store. I price compared, and was looking at Lumber Liquidators- they lowered their price for me so I couldn't buy out of town and are doing the install for me. They walked down to my building and measured for me which was soo handy. Remodeling my building has been easy to do (except for the sweat equity) thanks to local businesses and friends in the community. I am at Gronis Hardware constantly for something and always enjoy catching up with whoever I run in to on the street- like you and Tess! Well- I have to run to a shop downtown!
A Leavenworth local gal and proud downtown building owner. I enjoy walking downtown and shopping with my friends and neighbors and supporting our community in any way I can. I'm very excited to be done with remodeling my main storefront space soon and have Misty Bull Photography move in. I will have some of my jewelry and artistic creations on display there as well- my own little store space! I am glad to be a part of celebrating staying local, our merchants appreciate it too.
