I volunteered to help out in the marketing department of our congregations VBS. All I had to do is place the ad and get postcards designed and printed. Well, VBS is in 2 Saturdays and on Monday I realized I had slacked on my two tasks. Thank goodness church people are commanded to be patient and forgive. :)

I will be headed out to Kearney, NE again tomorrow, July 4th. My kiddos are still out at camp so I'm going out a day early to celebrate the fourth with them at camp and then bring them home on the 5th. Nebraska Youth Camp is 5 hours from Leavenworth and my trusted mechanic, Tommy Herken has made me promise not to drive my car to Nebraska at all this summer. I normally make the trek 5 times a year. I'm headed out Saturday to Nebraska Youth Camp to volunteer for a week. It is the best vacation ever. No cooking, no cleaning, hanging out with friends, activites planned for you, and working with the best kids in the world.

Shay Baker and I have been working on a "little sewing project" that I'm sure she will be talking about on here soon. While creating we needed some basic supplies. Since we are both doing the Stay Local thing, we had to hunt here for what we needed. And we were not disappointed.

Make your own! Ok, I know that most people don't sew these days and it is a recent skill I have picked up and am working on. But it is MY solution. I picked up fabric from the LV assistant center fabric/quilt shop yesterday. This shop is ran by volunteers and I love it. Not only is it in my budget but they have a little bit of everything. I bought enough fabric for a dress, a skirt, and a t-shirt (My new venture into sewing with knits).
